Opening Assignment September 29/11

I really agree with this lady. She really brought out some good points. I agree that woman need to take more initiative in the work force to be at the top. I think having more woman on top of the world would be a good thing. For a long time woman haven't had their opinions and ideas heard. Having fresh ideas has the potential to be a great thing for the world. Maybe it would bring some great change to the world. But at the same time it could change nothing and the world would be the same. It's all speculation.

Opening Assignment September 28

Well as far as i could read our name doesn't fall under any of the don't points. "Coffee lovers" tell the consumer what we sell and that we are passionate about our product that we are selling. I suppose it could fall under the category of being too specific if we decided to branch out to selling baked goods or hot chocolate. But I don't really see it as too much of an issue. Maybe something like Forest Cafe would be more functional.

Opening Assignment September 27

1. I think excel has a template that we will use.
2. That it is defiantly expensive to start a business and it takes time to actually break even.
3. Well all of our payments will be as we give them the product so I don't see a way that we wont get paid. It is simple for our group, no money no coffee.

Opening Assignment September 26/11

So the only one of my competitors that i was able to see was Tim Hortons. Sadly my picture of their menu was poor quality. What I do remember of it though is that their coffee was very well priced. i knew before that Tim's had the cheapest coffee for a coffee chain. I plan to be checking out more competition this week. This includes Starbucks second cup and 7 11. Off the top of my head i know that 7 11 will be cheaper than second cup and Starbucks. I am actually curious as to which one out of Second Cup and Starbucks is more expensive.

Opening assignment September 22/11

The speaker's message was very compelling. It was very interesting to learn on how in just 12 years his company reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 83%. That really makes it evident how other businesses and corporations should be able to follow in that company's footsteps and make a change in order to save our planet. I agree with the fact that corporations and enterprises in the business industry are the leaders in destroying the earth so they should be the leaders trying to get us out of the mess that they had a big part of causing.

Does our business plan have to be as long and in depth as some of the examples?
What if we still have unknown variables concerning our business?

opening activity 3

Well getting lost was quite interesting i must say. I know now that Ms. Keilty doesn't have to best sense of direction. Although i can't blame her for everything. There was a stall on Deerfoot Trail that made traffic a nightmare, because everyone knows that there are 309090897843692 cars on the road at two p.m. right? So she tried a shortcut that ultimately took less time than waiting on deerfoot but still wasn't fast enough to get us to class on time. I will give her props though because if it had been Mr. Stolee driving we still would be at school. I was directed to write about this by Ms. Munroe just incase you forgot :)

Well i suppose that the only attainable competitive edge from business to business would be innovation and the "golden circle" that was brought out in that video. Maybe the push for new things to keep an edge would further advance the world technologies.

Slide 1: It is ironic that the guy who is telling the others to row or they will sink is the one that is weighing them down in the first place and then on top of that he isn't even trying to help the situation.
Slide 2: Profit- Nike. Non-profit- World vision. Not for profit-
non profit-any money made goes into the cause. not for profit- any money made is put back into the company.
Slide 3:
Slide 4: Profit is what you actually get to take home after the costs and expenses are taken care of. Costs are things such as paying for labour. Expenses are the costs to make and distribute your product.
Slide 5: Well for positives first off it is a lot better for the environment is we use alternative methods of energy. A negative is that our already fragile economy would take a huge hit because oil is such a big part of our economy.
Slide 6:
Slide 7: This is going to sound terrible but runescape has an in-game economy.
